How this is calculated
M&IE stands for Meals & Incidental Expenses. The GSA sets per-diem rates for federal travelers. The first and last calendar day of travel are reimbursed at 75% of the full daily M&IE rate. All other days receive the full rate. This tool covers M&IE only — it does not include lodging, which varies by location. To find the correct M&IE tier for your destination, look it up on GSA's per-diem rates page. All calculations run locally in your browser.
